OTCS Welcomes Faculty of Biblical Hebrew Dr. Andrew Glen Daniel

Olivet Theological College and Seminary is pleased to welcome Dr. Andrew Glen Daniel, who will join the faculty as an adjunct faculty of Biblical Hebrew from the 2023-2024 academic school year.

Daniel’s scholarship focuses on Semitic (especially Hebrew, Pre-modern Aramaic, and Akkadian) and Classical (Ancient Greek and Latin) languages, with research interests in philology, linguistics, text, and interpretation. He combines a variety of linguistic approaches with biblical and related texts, enhancing our comprehension of the languages employed, the individuals who utilized them, and the text they produced.

Daniel’s academic journey includes an M.A. in Old Testament and an M.A. in Biblical Languages from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary and a DPhil in Oriental Studies (Semitics, LXX) from St. Cross College, University of Oxford (Thesis: “Beyond Translation Technique: Linguistic Approaches to the Septuagint’s Translation of the Aramaic Verbal System in Old Greek Daniel, Theodotion Daniel, and 2 Esdras.”)

As a Muzulu Fellow, Daniel also served as a Lecturer in Greek, Hebrew, and Latin at the African Christian University in Lusaka, Zambia, and as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the Department of Catholic Theology, Ludwig Maximilian University in Munich, Germany.
